一橋大学国際交流セミナーとは、本学に所属する若手研究者や学生を世界に羽ばたく人材として育成することに寄与するため、海外の大学に所属する研究者または外国人研究者を講演者とするセミナー開催を支援することを目的に、一橋大学後援会からの支援を受け、国際交流セミナー事業として実施しているものです。

講演題目：Shaping the Future Together: Participatory Foresight for Public Policy
講演概要：
Effective public policy requires a forward-looking approach that anticipates and responds to emerging challenges and opportunities. However, traditional methods of policy development often fail to capture the complexity and dynamism of today’s interconnected and rapidly evolving systems.
This talk will focus on participatory foresight approaches for public policy with some illustrative case studies from Singapore. We will discuss the need for a proactive and inclusive approach that engages a broader range of perspectives and incorporates multidisciplinary knowledge and explore how this approach involves engaging diverse stakeholders, including citizens, experts, policymakers, and civil society organizations, in a collaborative process of envisioning and planning for the future.

講師紹介：
Cheryl Chung is Head of Singapore for Kantar Public. Aseasoned public sector futurist, Cheryl works at the intersection of strategic foresight and public policy, bringing two decades of public policy experience and expertise to the role. She spent the majority of her career in the Singapore Government, working across policy, strategy, and futurist roles in various economic and infrastructure agencies, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Centre for Strategic Futures (under the Prime Minister’s Office), and the Ministry of Transport. Cheryl joined Kantar Public from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy where she led strategic planning and government relations, and more latterly Programme Director for Executive Education Singapore Futures, overseeing the Singapore and Open Enrolment markets, as well as establishing the School’s Futures training and consulting practice. Cheryl speaks and teaches internationally on futures thinking and public policy. Cheryl has a first-class honours degree in Economics from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
